Phase Inverters
A phase inverter is also known to be called a variable frequency drive. They are used to control the speed of electric motors. Most phase inverters are very sensitive with their circuitry.

Phase Converters
Phase converters transform three phase power from a single phase power source. There are many types of phase converters like static, rotary, digital and CNC phase converters. .

What's the Difference between a Phase Converter and a Phase Inverter
Phase inverters can only run some 3-phase motors on single phase but do not power any other type of 3 phase load. A phase converter converts that single phase power into 3-phase power to run multiple equipment.

Why is Voltage Balance Important When Running Three Phase Equipment
If your voltage balance in slightly imbalanced you can more than likely expect damage to your three phase equipment.

Three Phase Power
Three phase power is the  most desirable and common method of electric power.  Most of the machinery today is designed with three phase power capabilities.

Benefits of Three Phase Equipment
This is the most reliable and least expensive equipment to purchase.  Your equipment will run more efficient and will last for many years.

Benefits of a True Three Phase Rotary Phase Converter
A true three phase rotary phase converter will provide you with balanced power loads that will last you for years to come.

ACE Phase Converters
The leading manufacturer of a good quality phase converter. ACE Phase Converter has been in business for over 25 yrs offering a 10 year warranty on all of their phase converters.

Phase Converter Alternatives
Utility companies can provide you with three phase power but it will cost you dearly as they will have to completely change your power lines. You can re-locate to someplace that already provides three phase power.

What's The Difference Between a Phase Converter and a Phase InverterWhat's The Difference Between A Phase Converter and a Phase Inverter

Here we will learn what's the difference between a phase converter and a phase inverter.  It is always good to know the differences when you are trying to solve your three phase power solutions when running your equipment or machinery.

When learning what's the difference between a phase converter and a phase inverter you will find that the phase converter is more up to par with providing you with a true three phase power solution.  A phase inverter is also known as a variable frequency drive. They are basically known to control the speed of your electric motors.  They were designed to run a three phase motor on single phase power source.  They however, cannot ever power any other type of three phase load.  They just cannot handle that.  They are more or less a lot like the static phase converter which will only jump start your equipment but will not carry through to the full capacity of giving you that true three phase power that you need to run your equipment efficiently.

The phase inverter is very sensitive and when learning what the difference is between the phase converter and the phase inverter you will find that the phase inverter's operating lifespan is very very limited compared to the phase converter. The phase inverter has been known to cost the consumer more money than they are worth as they can damage very easily due to their sensitivity.

When the phase inverter uses the sine wave it appears that it chops it up or dissects it into three phase sine waves which gives you a harmonic distortion which will make your equipment or machinery operate on a less than normal operating capacity. You should have that full harmonic wave but you don't get it with the phase inverter like you do with a phase converter.  Your power output frequency with a phase inverter is always going to be varied and you cannot get that speed of the drive that it is supposed to have for a smooth operation that you need to run your equipment.

You will find that in learning what's the difference between a phase converter and a phase inverter that the phase converter is the way to go.  We have found that ACE Phase Converter is a good quality manufacturer when selecting you phase converter needs. With a phase converter it will take your single phase power output and convert it into true three phase power and you can run more than on piece of equipment with the phase converter. The phase converter is designed to not just do the start up on your equipment but it will take it through the entire operation of running on three phase power.  This gives you the consumer a safer balanced performance.  One thing that you will want to make note of though, when purchasing a phase converter, you will want to make sure that you purchase a rotary phase converter versus the static phase converter cause then you are assured that you are getting that true three phase power that you need. The static phase converter is much like the phase inverter that basically just helps the consumer out on the start up of their equipment and it doesn't follow through with the three phase power that you need. This results in damage to your equipment and then costs the consumer so much more money.  So always know what the difference between a phase converter and a phase inverter is as it could save you money in the long run.    ACE Phase Converter Satisfied Customer
